Script — Hello everyone, today I want to talk to you about a propaganda artifact that I find potentially harmful, dangerous, and troubling. The artifact I am referring to is an ad that tells people to vape and not quit smoking.

As young adults, you are the target audience for this type of propaganda. The purpose of this ad is to persuade you that vaping is a better alternative to smoking and that you should not quit smoking altogether. However, this is a dangerous and misleading message.

The propaganda artifact in question is an ad that tells people to vape and not quit smoking. This type of propaganda is highly misleading and dangerous because it encourages people to continue smoking, which is a highly addictive and deadly habit. The tobacco industry has a long history of using propaganda to promote its products and to undermine public health messages about the dangers of smoking.

The problem with vaping is that it is not a safe alternative to smoking. While it is true that vaping does not produce the same harmful chemicals as smoking, it still contains harmful substances such as nicotine and other chemicals that can damage your lungs and other organs. Vaping has also been linked to serious health problems such as lung disease, heart disease, and even death.

One of the reasons why vaping is so dangerous is that it can be highly addictive. Nicotine is a highly addictive substance, and vaping devices are designed to deliver high levels of nicotine to the user. This can make it difficult for people to quit vaping once they start, and can also make it more difficult for people to quit smoking.

Another problem with vaping is that it can be harmful to the environment. Vaping devices and cartridges can produce a significant amount of waste, and many of these devices are not designed to be recycled or disposed of in an environmentally friendly way. This can lead to pollution and other environmental problems.

The message of the ad that tells people to vape and not quit smoking is troubling because it is designed to manipulate and deceive people. The tobacco industry has a long history of using propaganda to promote their products and to undermine public health messages about the dangers of smoking. This type of propaganda is designed to create doubt and confusion about the risks of smoking and to promote the idea that vaping is a safe alternative.

In conclusion, it is important to be skeptical of any propaganda that promotes vaping as a safe alternative to smoking or that encourages you to continue smoking. Quitting smoking is the best thing you can do for your health, and there are many resources available to help you quit. Don’t let the tobacco industry manipulate you into making a dangerous and potentially deadly choice.

Reflective essay —

The rationale for selecting this example of harmful propaganda is based on the fact that the tobacco industry has a long history of using propaganda to promote its products and to undermine public health messages about the dangers of smoking. This type of propaganda is highly misleading and dangerous, as it encourages people to continue smoking, which is a highly addictive and deadly habit. On top of this I found this piece of propaganda to be very effective and get its message across which makes it extremely affective.

The creative process involved in developing the script for this propaganda analysis involved a combination of research, brainstorming, and critical thinking. The first step was to research credible sources of information about the dangers of smoking and vaping, as well as the tactics used by the tobacco industry to promote their products. This research helped to provide a solid foundation of knowledge and understanding about the topic.

The next step was to brainstorm ideas for the script, focusing on key themes and messages that would resonate with the target audience of young adults with an interest in propaganda. The goal was to create a script that was concise, informative, and persuasive, using a variety of creative techniques to engage the audience and convey the message effectively.

One of the struggles encountered in the creative process was finding the right tone and style for the script. It was important to strike a balance between being informative and persuasive without coming across as preachy or judgmental. Another challenge was to ensure that the script was within the given word count limit and that it had a strong beginning, middle, and end.

The creative breakthroughs experienced in the process involved finding ways to use rhetorical devices and persuasive techniques to make the script more engaging and impactful. For example, using vivid imagery and analogies to help the audience visualize the dangers of smoking and vaping, as well as incorporating emotional appeals to activate the audience’s feelings and create a sense of urgency.

Overall, the creative process involved in developing this script required a combination of research, critical thinking, and creativity. By focusing on key themes and messages, using persuasive techniques and rhetorical devices, and striking the right tone and style, the goal was to create a script that would inform and persuade the target audience about the dangers of harmful propaganda promoted by the tobacco industry.
