PropTech JAPAN signed the MOU of mutual cooperation with Asia PropTech, Proptech Africa and Proptech & Construtech Peru
PropTech JAPAN and 3 PropTech communities (Asia PropTech, Proptech Africa and Proptech & Construtech Peru) signed the memorandum of understanding (MOU) toward strengthening mutual cooperation between the communities to promotes real estate tech and construction tech.
Background
PropTech JAPAN was established in 2017, to build and develop the startup ecosystem of PropTech (Property×Technology) and ConTech (Construction×Technology) industries in Japan. Proptech JAPAN has been holding “PropTech Meetup”, a networking event that is open to everyone interested in PropTech. Currently, around 1,500 members are participating in the community.
PropTech JAPAN has collaborated with overseas communities and companies in various ways, such as holding Japan’s first pitch conference specializing in PropTech, taking the stage at overseas conferences, and providing information and cooperation to global firms. This time, PropTech JAPAN has signed the MOU with Asia PropTech, Proptech Africa, Proptech & Construtech Peru.
With the conclusion of this MOU, we will work on building a bilateral and global PropTech ecosystem by holding collaborative events, attending and promoting events, launching collaborative projects and so on.

The Association of PropTech and ConstruTech Peru has been formed to promote the use of technology in our ecosystem and community in the industry of Real Estate and Construction in Peru. We generate aggregated value to all local stakeholders as construction and development companies, all industry providers, servicing companies, the academy, startups, capital ventures and the Government by promoting and incentivizing increasements in all levels of production and competition, throughout sustainability. It is a pleasure for us to have recently formed a mutual cooperation agreement with PropTech JAPAN in order to share our goals and objectives, by improving our standards and technologies, and in this way adding together to generate a global positive response to our mutual impulse. Although, Japan and Peru are geographically far away countries and have totally different cultures we share the same philosophy that technology and digitalization are improving dramatically our industries; however, compared to others as FinTech, we are moving along positively but still far behind in its rapid development, and real application and use in our communities. We agreed and believed that the field’s modernization has accelerated rapidly in a global context in the last year due to the actual world recession that has a much slower economic growth in almost all countries and continents, because of the current pandemic. Therefore, we truly believe that the further use of technology in the Real Estate and Construction Industries will help to overcome faster this global situation. In these senses, by creating a global cooperation of PropTech and ConstructionTech we certainly believe will help considerable to increase our knowledge and improve our technical tools to create what is most important for all: a better and higher standard of living for all Japanese and Peruvians.

Nowadays, PropTech is attracting attention all over the world, and various PropTech communities are born in each country and area. I am very pleased to be able to sign the MOU with the three communities of Proptech Africa, Asia PropTech, and Proptech and Construtech Peru, which are particularly active. In the future, I would like to strengthen cooperation with like-minded colleagues around the world, hold events, and carry out joint research. In addition, through each activity, I would like to further boost the PropTech market and aim to establish a bridge between Japanese PropTech startups and the world.
Prospects
By strengthening collaboration with PropTech startup communities around the world, PropTech JAPAN will enhance the presence of PropTech startups in Japan and promote activities to undertake a role to be a hub in the world PropTech scene.
