Partnership for Civil Justice Fund files FOIA suit

“A Washington, D.C.-based civil rights law firm announced on Thursday it is taking legal action against the Metropolitan Police Department for its withholding of information about the number of arrests made on Inauguration Day” — Washington Examiner

Court records show that the PCJF (a small organization known for its defense of the First Amendment and annoying local and national law enforcement) is seeking to compel the government to fork over records under the Freedom of Information Act.

DC Metropolitan Police officials initially responded to records requests, but ultimately failed to produce what was required under FOIA within the appropriate time frames.

Given that the PCJF was the legal force behind Newsham’s last embarrassing mass arrest debacle, this could be the opening salvo in yet another long legal battle.
