Dear Community, we’re excited to announce that we open up 2023 social predictions with one of the most significant events in the glorious tennis circuit: predictions pools for the Australian Open, one of the Grand Slam tournaments, will soon be launched on Prosper!
About the Event
From January 16 to January 29, Melbourne will welcome the greatest names of modern tennis for the 111th edition of the Australian Open. AO opens the Grand Slam annual series and will be followed up by the French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open later this year.
AO features men’s and women’s singles; men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles; junior’s championships; and wheelchair, legends, and exhibition events. This year we will witness the performance of such tennis stars as Rafael Nadal, Casper Ruud, Novak Djokovic, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Daniil Medvedev, Iga Świątek, Ons Jabeur, Jessica Pegula, Caroline Garcia, and Aryna Sabalenka.
Key Information
Predictions will be launched for the matches of the 2nd week of the tournament starting January 22nd.
We will choose the most significant matches for predictions, so it’s the best time to prepare and get to know the tournament qualifiers and their strongest suits. We will also have crazy pools and stats pools to complement the main matches predictions.
All predictions are to be made in $PROS, you can trade $PROS for stablecoins on Binance here.
Rewards
All the participants will be entered in the volume contest that will end on February 12th (sports fans will easily deduce what is our next event from that hint 😀). The rewards allocated to the contest are 8 000 $PROS
We have however modified the rewards distribution of the contest, as we felt like the previous one was creating too much of a threshold effect. We have now opted for a ponderated model, meaning people will receive a percentage of the rewards based on their share of the participation in the contest.
Exemple: You have predicted 10 000 Pros in total between January 21st and February 12th. The global event volume is 100 000 PROS. You will receive 100 000 / 10 000 = 10% of the contest rewards, or 10% x 8 000 = 800 PROS
On top of the contest, we will be having Happy pools with 200 to 1000 PROS rewards. Happy pools will be announced as the event progresses.

Placing a prediction on an event can be quickly done by choosing the corresponding pool, choosing the outcome you’re predicting as correct, then entering the amount you want to predict, and hitting Confirm. You can additionally use a guide on the platform to start predicting.
The pools will be created by our team on a custom basis, which means both Duration of the pool and settlement period will be different for each pool based on its type and the particularities of the event.
Once the event is over, the outcome will be displayed, and the winner side will receive the rewards of the pools.
