Chronology
The Super Bowl was introduced on June 8, 1966, by the NFL and the American Football League (AFL). After severe fighting between players and fans, they decided to create a tournament where their best teams would compete with each other for a championship.
However, from 1967 to 1970, the event was held without the merger with the NFL and AFL, each winning two. Later, in 1970, the American Football Conference (AFC) was organized by 10 AFL teams and 3 NFL teams, and the remaining 13 NFL teams formed the National Football Conference (NFC). Name
The event used to be called the “AFL–NFL World Championship Game”. The “Super Bowl” title was introduced in 1969 when AFL founder and owner of the Kansas City Chiefs, Lamar Hunt, jokingly suggested it after seeing his daughter playing with a toy called the Super Ball. The title also met the concept of “bowl games”, named after the Rose Bowl Game, played in stadiums in the shape of a bowl. Hunt thought it would be a temporary title. However, it is still used.

The Super Bowl 2023
This year the Super Bowl LVII will start on February 12. The kickoff time is 4:30 pm (MST), and the stadium gates will open at 12:30 pm (MST). The Super Bowl LVII will be warmed up with the Bud Light Super Bowl Music Fest that will be held February 9–11.
