What is gamification ?
You may have picked that one of the most dominant trend of cryptos at the moment is Gaming. Thanks to many leading crypto video games project, many of which developped or brought into AnimocaBrand’s Metaverse, the public has now realised the potential of combining Blockchain and crypto technologies with gaming. That “pure” gaming experience has in turn lead to a better understanding of how powerful “gamification” of other projects can be.
So what is gamification exactly ? it is the implementation of gaming mechanics into the core mechanics of something that is not a video game. Let’s say, a prediction platform ;). It means designing and implementing features that will help users have a playful experience on the platform.
It is of course very important for all modern applications to integrate gamification, because it not only improves user experience, but also improves a lot the user involvment and conversion to product usage / buying.
In short, the goal is to increase user metrics (time on platform, returns, number of predictions made, etc) by providing “side” activities and bonuses that will help him have fun on the platform.
How do we plan to gamify Prosper ?
Gamification was always a part of our ambitious roadmap although we did not really call it that at first. But mainly, our original idea was that users should have a global “fun” experience when predicting, by allowing them to not only make one-off predictions but to “build” onto their profile : collect points, compete with each others in ladders and prediction competitions, win rewards for participating on certain predictions, etc.
Most of these possibilities are based on two of our planned features, which are Prediction statistics and user accounts. We’ve been working for some time on the algorithms that will allow us to gather and exploit the platform’s prediction data and build personnal spaces for the users (still based on your non-custudial connection) as well as ladders etc. It still requires fine-tuning but we’re quite confident these new features could be tested on the platform in the near future!
