Description

This is an update to the original ASX ETF Tracker. That app, whilst good, needed an overhaul after all the feedback I received from both retail investors and institutional investment professionals.

One of the key bits of feedback was to create a page which had an overall snapshot for the latest months data. We now have this with the default Dashboard landing page. All of the Analytics insights that were in the previous app are still there but in now have their own section. Finally, there is a Data Stories page which showcases an interactive and navigable list of stories/highlights which we’ll use to highlight interesting trends and analysis at a group or individual fund level.

Additionally, the name change has moved from just being an ASX focused one to being Australian in general. This app will house additional funds from Chi-X in its next iterations so keeping the name generic helps that cause.

The aim for this app is to aid in the education of investing for retail traders and help professionals by becoming a companion app that helps them in their day to day (or at least on a monthly basis when new insights come through).

If you’re interested in the markets and look at Index Funds or ETF’s (Exchange Traded Fund) and wanted to track performance then you might know about the data that’s provide by the ASX (Australian Securities Exchange). The data sits in PDF’s or Excel files and you can access it here: https://www.asx.com.au/products/managed-funds/market-update.htm.
