Stop Providing Weapons to Your Enemy

Last post, we talked a lot about the tug-of-war between your conscious mind versus your subconscious programming, for outcomes you want to do, have, and become. Unfortunately, you can sometimes unknowingly give the negative programming in your subconscious mind an extra advantage. One it certainly doesn’t need.

This happens when you consciously affirm underlying negative programming by voicing it out loud. This process is simple and seems innocent enough but doing it will dramatically tip the scales against manifesting your prosperity. I’m referring to the negative affirmations you speak about your limitations:

I can’t sing a note. I’m hopelessly clumsy. I’m always a day late and a dollar short. I can’t dance to save my life. I don’t know how to do this. I couldn’t possibly learn how to…

Hopefully by now, you know the power of your subconscious mind and recognize it is significantly more influential in your beliefs, actions, and behaviors than your conscious mind is. To make meaningful improvement toward growth and enlightenment requires working first on your subconscious mind since that creates the changes of consequence in your conscious mind. This requires a concerted effort, enlisting all your available resources.

Let’s suppose your best friend wants to teach you a new dance step that’s going viral on Tik-Tok. If you make an affirmation like, “I can’t dance to save my life,” you’re anchoring that negative belief your subconscious mind is trying to sell you. Even worse, you’re cutting off all oxygen from the possibility of your conscious mind even entertaining the suggestion and attempting to break the programming. It’s like providing weapons to your enemies.

Every time you affirm, “I can’t (sing, dance, draw, paint, stay sober, accept love, etc.)” — you’re making the case for a limiting belief and removing any possibility for you to consciously choose to replace that limiting belief. So be mindful and…

Only argue for the limitations you want to keep.

Peace,
