Our core role of Empowering Women has become innate to our vision and direction. At the inception we consciously decided to recruit young women to play the role of Development officers. This strategic move in our evolutionary journey has helped to improve client protection and accessibility to women entrepreneurs. This change no doubt sets us apart within the finance industry in our resolve to effect change.

During its journey Prosperous Capital & Credit Limited (PCCL) was proud to bring added value to the micro finance sector in Sri Lanka through various innovative facilities. The strengths and courage we have derived from our strong customer base has driven growth and expansion at many levels and today, our company is even better positioned to deliver excellence in financial services to the thousands of customers we serve.

According to World Bank statistics female population (% of total) in Sri Lanka was reported at 51.89 % in 2016.

Women are better problem solvers

Time and time again, researchers find that diversity of thought leads to better problem solving — when we collaborate with people of different genders, sexual orientations, ethnicities and race in our workplace, we all do better work.

The Global Leadership Forecast 2014–2015 concluded thatgender diversity in your leadership pool means greater diversity of thought, which, in turn, leads to improved problem solving and greater business benefits.” In the same study, when researchers asked leaders what would help increase their effectiveness, they answered “my organization needs to start creating more transparency, more attention to promoting women in leadership roles, and atmosphere in which everyone has a chance to be a leader.”

Mentorship and sponsorship can be incredibly important for career growth and job satisfaction, so having increased supply “on the bench” in your company can give your employees an edge.

Millennial women are more educated than men

Today’s young women are starting their careers better educated than men. A more educated workforce is essential for implementing innovative techniques, challenging the status quo and introducing new business approaches.
