We live on a world which is at the verge of her death. We, as her children and partitioned dependents have nothing left to do other than mourn over her death as we are deprived of her luxurious earthly resources every day by the passing second. However, as a questionable factor, it is important to look back to reminisce the key cause which led us all to this miserable fate. So what led us here? Human action of course. Irrational, short-term, imprudent human action which lacked the effort to re-think potential consequences. It has led the entire population of contemporary society along with organisms from other species to a burdensome future which is suffering from a run-out of unrenewable resources, a damaged ozone layer, rising global temperatures, rising sea-levels, species extinction and many more.

So what do we do about it? Do we even have an alternative operative solution to fix them? Yes we do. Many responsible figures and organizations has already begun to take action in order to address and solve the issues. The United Nations for example included environmental sustainability at the seventh locus in its millennium Development Goals for the year 2015. In addition, affordable and clean energy ranks at the seventh locus among United Nations seventeen sustainable development goals while climate action ranks at the thirteenth locus and life on land stands as the fifteenth goal.

Among the various sources, energy production and use is recognized as the single biggest contributor to global warming accounting to roughly two-thirds of human induced greenhouse gas emissions. It is quite the case because the world largely depends on unrenewable energy to accomplish its energy demands. However, the plot took an unexpected twist in the recent centuries or so with the introduction of renewable energy sources.

Renewable energy in developing countries is among the the prime contributors to reducing global emissions due to energy efficiency and reduced green-house gas emission. As part of our commitment to environment sustainability, we at PCCL encourage the use of renewable energy through Jaiwashakthi (Bio gas development program) and Vihahwa (Solar power program).

Furthermore, we support climate action by our contributions to reduce carbon emission and enhance the overall oxygen value in the atmosphere through our ruk-ropana (tree plantation program), haritha-home gardening program and the Haritha shakthi-Green investment program. We in turn support the biosphere as our actions would enforce a positive effect on the existence of living things on the planet.

Overall, we at PCCL along with the efforts of many various capable individuals of the planet contribute and commit as one to re-enforce our dying planet since our existence relies on its existence. If planet earth ceases to exist we will face extinction along with it.
