This Week In Gay Asia… has moved to Telegram!

You may have seen the column This Week In Gay Asia, run on Singapore culture news website Popspoken. We trialled this in December and received great support from the LGBTQ+ community — but in the crowded social media landscape, users we spoke to said it was difficult to find this information in their newsfeeds unless they were specifically subscribed to it.

During our interviews with users, we also uncovered an even bigger need: some LGBTQs had concerns associating themselves with LGBTQ+ content on their social media pages for fear of friends and family finding out.

So, we’ve moved this to Telegram and rebranded it to Qurrent: an update every Monday and Thursday of LGBTQ+ news and events in Asia. It’s safe, secure and no one will know you’re on it as the subscriber list is hidden from public view.
