After the Hackoberfest which took place all October, NoCodevember is the event of the month of November. What is No-Code? It is a feature of some programs that can be installed, configured or used without the need to code. The history of No-Code began in the 1980s with the arrival of Microsoft Excel (on a Macintosh computer), which allows calculations to be performed on multiple cells. Spreadsheets will remain until today the best known No-Code tool, with Google Sheet replacing its ancestor. It is with the boom of the internet, that No-Code takes over the web and sees the creation of tools known today such as Wordpress, Zapier, but also Airtable, Notion or Google Table.

The No-Code could be similar to the Low-Code which is more recent. The Low-Code seems to have appeared in the years 2010. The latter also allows you to install, configure and use programs simply, but requires the occasional use of scripting. This is the case of platforms such as monday.com or Zoho Creator, the future ex-Google App Maker firewall.

In which category does Proxeus fall? It depends on which angle you look at it. At the time of installation and setup, Proxeus still requires a simple but manual installation. One of the axes of development is to turn the platform into a one-click install! During the configuration, Proxeus needs to communicate with the outside world. Interfaces with other services are to be configured as needed. This requires the intervention of a little bit of technique to create these communication bridges. And this is done only once.

On the user interface side, the creation of workflows, forms, and adding files is done without the need for code. Each form is created by dragging and dropping the fields you need. Workflow creation does not have to be ashamed of other process management software (BPM). A fully graphical interface simply allows you to define steps, actions and triggers.

Proxeus would today lean towards Low-Code, but it is up to the community to develop and propose interfaces and automated installation to make Proxeus No-Code. So that’s where we need you!
