Night Vale Presents’ Alice Isn’t Dead is back with its third and final season today, April 24. The season will wrap up in time for the release of the Alice Isn’t Dead novel, scheduled for the fall, and TV show, which is currently in development.

The third season of the podcast brings a second narrator — after a cameo appearance in season two, Alice (Erica Livingston) will join the main character Keisha (Jasika Nicole) in narrating the new episodes.

The first episode, “Part 2, Chapter 1: Cause and Effect” picks up the story in earnest.

The team also released a recording of the Los Angeles Alice Isn’t Dead live show as a bonus episode on April 10.

The new season follows the two women into a war with an overwhelming enemy, and in search for a bizarre ally who might be their only chance of ever returning from this long road trip.

“This season we will hear from both Keisha and her wife Alice as they finally stop searching for each other and start working together against their common enemy. There will be answers to many questions, there will be a big, definitive ending to the story, but most importantly, there will be the send off these two characters deserve. I can’t wait for people to hear it.” — Joseph Fink, writer and creator of Alice Isn’t Dead, partner at Night Vale Presents

Listeners will learn the answers to key questions. Where did the monstrous Thistle Men come from? Who are the oracles who live in gas station bathrooms and behind old roadside attractions? Why did Alice leave? And is it possible, after so many years away, to ever go home? Questions answered. A story finished. The road trip is ending.

Produced and scored by Disparition, episodes will be released biweekly.

And while the podcast may be coming to an end after this season, Alice Isn’t Dead fans can look forward to the upcoming novel and TV show.

The novel, to be published by Harper Perennial, will be a fast-paced thriller expanding on the story told in the podcast.

Universal Cable Productions is developing the podcast for television for USA Network. The podcast’s creator, Joseph Fink, will serve as executive producer of the TV show.
