In seeking to offer public media audiences a much-needed voice of reason and inspiration this fall, PBS NewsHour is launching “Tell Me More with Kelly Corrigan, an intimate and heartfelt special interview series, while PRX and KQED will both present “Kelly Corrigan Wonders,” a podcast and radio show that delves into deep questions with thoughtful guests.

For readers of her four New York Times bestselling memoirs, it’s easy to see why HuffPost crowned Corrigan “the poet laureate of the ordinary” back in 2010. While she’s best known for her written words, audiences at her readings, live events, and TV appearances have fallen in love with her candor, intimacy, and insight into everyday life.

“In this era, we all have been forced to think hard about what is most important in our lives,” said James Blue, Executive-in-Charge of PBS NewsHour’s special programming. “‘Tell Me More’ illustrates our common need for connection. Kelly brings compassion to everything she does, and I can think of no one better to engage with her various guests on their foundational values.”

In “Tell Me More with Kelly Corrigan,” premiering on PBS stations nationwide on Monday, October 5, 2020, 9:00–10:00 pm ET (check local listings), Corrigan will conduct candid conversations with influential leaders in their fields, including acclaimed public interest lawyer Bryan Stevenson; late-night host, actor and writer James Corden; and actress and entrepreneur Jennifer Garner during this initial run. In each one-hour episode, Corrigan will explore her guests’ universal humanity and passions. Throughout the series, the audience will learn revealing insights that will place her guests in a new light. The conversations with Corrigan and her guests will reveal the experiences we all have in common and how we can use those experiences to make a difference.

In the “Kelly Corrigan Wonders,” podcast, launching on Tuesday, October 6 in partnership with PRX, Corrigan will approach pivotal questions in a unique month-long mini-series format. New episodes will be released weekly on Tuesdays. In the opening series, she will debunk various pieces of conventional wisdom with four celebrated authors and podcasters: Kate Bowler, Nadia Bolz-Weber, Dani Shapiro, and Annie Jean-Baptiste. In the second series, Corrigan will be joined by renowned educator and thinker Wanda Holland Greene for a grounding deep dive on what essential capabilities we all have at our disposal to get through challenging times. These first two series are supported by production partner, Medium, which will provide a platform for content and engagement at medium.com/@kelly. A third series, sponsored by Arthur Vining Davis Foundation, will explore how things change — both on a societal level and an individual level. “Kelly Corrigan Wonders” will be available free via Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Pocket Casts, RadioPublic, and across podcast listening platforms.

“Kelly is fearless about getting to deeper truths through empathy and incisive questioning,” said John Barth, Chief Content Officer at PRX. “Grounded in our common humanity, the ‘Kelly Corrigan Wonders’ podcast is right for this moment. PRX is proud to present Kelly and her guests alongside programming from public media colleagues PBS NewsHour and KQED.”

KQED Public Radio in San Francisco will be airing episodes of “Kelly Corrigan Wonders” on a weekly basis throughout the fall and into 2021. The airtime on KQED will be Wednesdays at 8 pm, with a subsequent airing on Saturdays (note: times may vary, please check KQED listings). “We are thrilled to have Kelly Corrigan back on KQED,” said Holly Kernan, Chief Content Officer, KQED. “Her show offers inspiration, information, and good humor, something our audience is craving right now.”

“I’ve always been fascinated by how knowing more and feeling more can help us to do more and be better,” said Corrigan. “At a time when so many people are feeling lost, I hope this programming from PBS, PRX, and KQED will help shine a light and lead viewers and listeners to new perspectives and more fulfilling connections — regardless of our circumstances.”

Kelly Corrigan is the author of the New York Times bestsellers “The Middle Place, Lift, Glitter and Glue,” and most recently, “Tell Me More.” A contributor to The New York Times and O Magazine, Corrigan will publish her first children’s book “Hello World” in April 2021 and is finishing a manuscript about the last three weeks of her father’s life called “You Can Go.” Corrigan also launched and hosted Notes & Words, an annual benefit concert that has raised over $12 million for the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland. She lives near Oakland, California, with her husband, Edward Lichty, and her daughters, Georgia and Claire.
