(Boston, MA and Mountain View, CA; October 31, 2019) — Today, public media pioneer PRX and Google released a 10-part series of free, educational Podcasting 101 videos to support early-stage podcasters around the world. The video series is a pillar of the Google Podcasts creator program, an initiative from PRX and Google that aims to empower underrepresented voices in podcasting.
Podcasting 101 is available for free here and on YouTube, available with English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Hindi and Arabic subtitles. With a mix of live-action and animation and injected with humor and accessible information, the video series serves as an introductory guide walking viewers through the fundamentals of creating a podcast. Primary topic areas include the key first production decisions to make, the art of interviewing, editing techniques, distribution and reaching audiences with intention.
The Podcasting 101 video series is co-hosted by influential media-makers Luvvie Ajayi, author of the New York Times best-seller I’m Judging You: The Do-Better Manual and host of the Rants & Randomness and Jesus & Jollof podcasts, as well as Sean Rameswaram, host of Vox Media’s daily news podcast Today, Explained.
