At PRX, we’re always looking for new and unique partners to work with to drive bold audio projects and help reach new audiences. Sometimes, the best partners are located right in our own backyard.

Today, we’re excited to announce a new partnership with WGBH, where we’ll work together on a range of podcast initiatives including creation, distribution and monetization.

“WGBH has long been a content powerhouse in the industry and we are thrilled to work with them on their full portfolio,” said Kerri Hoffman, CEO of PRX. “Our technology, experience and scaling capacity will help WGBH position itself for the next generation.”

WGBH is PBS’s single largest producer for television, producing some of the best-known series — Nova, Masterpiece, Frontline, American Experience, Antiques Roadshow and Arthur, to name a few.

WGBH’s public radio station has grown its journalistic operations dramatically, and become a significant contributor to news that listeners rely on, both locally and nationally, through the NPR news network. The company has been recognized with hundreds of honors: Emmys, Peabodys, DuPont-Columbia Awards, and two Academy Awards.

“PRX’s reputation as a nimble innovator is well known. The public media mission is in their DNA. That, coupled with their deep understanding of podcast creation and distribution, makes this an ideal partnership to extend the impact of WGBH’s work,” said Bob Kempf, WGBH vice president of digital services.

PRX will be working with WGBH’s digital team to leverage their significant public media brands and help transform them into successful podcasts, while developing new show ideas. While PRX will certainly benefit from WGBH’s deep industry roots and commitment to top-quality content, WGBH will look to PRX to help create even more content, grow revenue, and engage new audiences.
