PRX, the public media organization that distributes and produces iconic audio programming heard by millions, today announced four new appointments to its Board of Directors: Jene Elzie of Athletes First Partners, Rima Hyder of FactSet, Tanya Jones of Aya Global, and Claudia Palmer of WGBH in Boston. Further, WGBH President and CEO Jon Abbott has completed an eight-year tenure of service on the board.

“We’re pleased to welcome Jene, Rima, Tanya, and Claudia to our board of remarkably forward-thinking leaders across media, tech, business, and beyond,” said Kerri Hoffman, CEO of PRX. “Their insight and deep expertise will assist us as we not only build a bold future for audio, but as we continue to develop the next generation of public media creators and listeners.”

Jene Elzie is Chief Growth Officer for Athletes First Partners with more than two decades of experience as a global sports and entertainment executive. Prior, Elzie served as Vice President of International Marketing for The National Basketball Association (the NBA), driving the league’s audience growth internationally, including in Europe, Asia, and Latin America. Elzie has also served as Vice President of Commercial Development for the NBCUniversal International Television Group and as Vice President of International Sales and Strategic Planning for Comcast.

Rima Hyder is the Vice President of External Communications at FactSet, a global financial data and technology company, where she created the firm’s first global media and investor relations strategy. A graduate of the London School of Economics, Hyder has also served as the Head of Investor Relations for both Energy Future Holdings and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, where she led the company’s successful initial public offering.

Dr. Tanya Jones serves as President of Aya Global, a philanthropic advisory practice. Jones has also served as Portfolio Manager at The Barr Foundation, one of the largest private foundations in New England with a focus on human, natural, and creative potential. There, Jones led the foundation’s community health and women’s portfolios in East Africa and India. With a commitment to international development, Jones has also led initiatives at organizations such as Pathfinder International.

Claudia Palmer is Chief Operating Officer at WGBH in Boston, a leading public broadcaster via radio, television, and online for the region and the largest producer of PBS content for television and digital platforms, including Nova, Frontline, Masterpiece, Arthur, Molly of Denali, and Antiques Roadshow. Palmer has also served as Chief Business Officer and Chief Financial Officer at Reuters, as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at EMI Music Publishing, and as Vice President of Business Development at The North Face.

“PRX believes public media is strongest when anchored in journalism, strengthened with diverse voices, and amplified by innovative technology,” said Ashton Peery, Chairperson of the Board of Directors at PRX. “We champion this mission whole-heartedly and are thrilled to be joined by Jene, Rima, Tanya, and Claudia at this incredible time of growth in audio. We’re grateful for Jon’s time with us, his outstanding contributions to our team, and for his vision of what public media can be.”

Elzie, Hyder, Jones, and Palmer also join PRX board members Michael Armstrong, Steven Bass, Henry Becton, Jr., Kathy Chan, Dodee Frost Crockett, Kathryn Finney, Betsy Gardella, Kerri Hoffman, Michael Isip, Dan Lothian, Dete Meserve, Alison Ranney, Daniel Routman, Robert Ryan, Edward Schenider, Umang Shah, Jake Shapiro, Bruce Warren, Lawrence Wilkinson, and Judy Woodruff.
