PRX Welcomes Karla Martin and Frank Washington as New Board Members

Nonprofit public media organization PRX — one of the world’s top podcast publishers and public radio distributors — is pleased to welcome two new appointments to its Board of Directors: Karla Martin and Frank Washington. Martin and Washington will begin their service in October 2023.

“We warmly welcome Karla and Frank to our board. Their innovative leadership will help us on our path to help create a bold and vibrant future for podcasting and public radio,” said Kerri Hoffman, CEO of PRX.

A seasoned business strategist and advisor, Karla Martin currently leads Deloitte’s Global Fashion and Luxury practice. Martin holds more than 25 years of experience across global retail and consumer products clients, having also served as Director of Global Business Strategy and Strategic Planning at Google, as Vice President at Booz Allen Hamilton with a focus on Technology and Consumer practices, and previously leading the firm’s West Coast Technology and Innovation practice. A graduate of Harvard Law School, Martin has also served as an attorney at Shearman & Sterling. Martin is currently a resident of San Francisco, California.

Frank Washington is the CEO and founder of Crossings TV, a multi-market cable television network providing news, information, and entertainment programming for multiple Asian language groups in metropolitan areas across the United States. In addition to currently serving on the board of the California Chamber, Washington has also held positions including Vice President of Communications and General Manager of Electronic Media Operations at McClatchy as well as Deputy Chief of the broadcast bureau at the Federal Communications Commission and serving in the Carter administration White House. Further, Washington previously served as Board Chair for Capital Public Radio and public television station KVIE in Sacramento, California. Washington is a resident of Sacramento.
