Snap Judgment Studios Announces New Partnership with PRX
The team behind the acclaimed weekly radio show and storytelling podcast Snap Judgment today announced a new partnership with public media organization PRX. Snap Judgment proudly celebrates the lives of people whose stories often go untold and unheard.
Beginning July 1, PRX will distribute Snap Judgment to public radio stations across the United States. In addition, the Snap Judgment podcast will be added to PRX’s portfolio of award-winning on-demand shows. A slate of new original programming from Snap Judgment Studios will be added in the future. Distribution is currently managed by WNYC Studios.
“We’re doubling down on the mission that started Snap in the first place — ensuring voices from all walks of life have a place on our airwaves,” said Glynn Washington, the show’s host and creator. “Additionally, Snap Judgment Studios is developing a raft of amazing new shows we can’t wait for everyone to hear. We’re thrilled to join forces with PRX, where the idea for Snap Judgment began more than a decade ago.”
Snap Judgment launched in 2010 after Washington won a Public Radio Talent Quest contest run by PRX and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Now carried on over 400 public radio stations nationwide, the program is beloved by audiences for its cinematic nonfiction narratives infused with evocative original scores.

Washington and the Snap Judgment team are also the minds behind fan-favorite podcasts such as Spooked, an anthology of true-life supernatural stories, and Heaven’s Gate, an investigative series exploring a cult that shocked the country in the late 90s. In 2019, Snap Judgment was honored by the Third Coast International Audio Festival for producing one of the year’s most groundbreaking pieces of documentary audio, a story of personal impact following a false ballistic missile alarm. The show was also recently named one of “the ten nonfiction podcasts that changed everything” by Vulture.
