Dear Pastor

A Poem: Empire Versus Kingdom Building

O visionary leader
Clinging to the words of God
Where is it written
That more is always better?

Dear Pastor,
You have been distant as of late
And I can live with that

But I urge you,
Even though the grace of Jesus
Covers a multitude of sin
Would it not be better to walk a higher road?

Dear Pastor,
I could care less about your empire
And while I am not God,
I am sure He feels the same

Dear Pastor,
Could we not leave all the foolishness behind
To see the Kingdom of God on earth?

Dear Pastor,
What is it that God has called you to do? To be?
