Welcome
Psalm 45: 1 (The Wedding Psalm)…Beautiful words stir my heart. I will recite a lovely poem about the king, for my tongue is like the pen of a skillful poet.
Welcome to my poetry/spoken word online presence. To best describe what this is all about, let me tell you a true story. It begins with a beautiful painting from Jeanne Nash that I purchased 2 decades ago. The painting shows a lovely woman standing on a romantic path all alone, holding a singular rose. It has been extremely representative of my own rather solitary (but stinkingly romantic) journey with God. Well, one day in the spirit, I saw this painting set aflame, and it was clear that God was calling me to go to a particular meeting.
While many things happened the day of that meeting, I will jump to the end when I was called up to the front to be given a prophetic word. The woman who was speaking to me asked if the word “Beulah” meant anything to me. Of course it did since my poetry website already existed at that domain. She proceeded to tell me what it meant: Married to God. She then declared that God wanted to be my husband. In my mind I began to protest because He was so strongly my father. Although I had said nothing aloud, she then proclaimed, “God will always be your father, but He now also wants to be your husband.”
You see, my walk with God has always been all-encompassing and oh so intimate. And my poetry has been my longest standing art form to express this insane ride into the very heart of God. I hope you enjoy exploring all that is here — from the purely intimate (Divine Romance), all the way to the excruciating crucible of intense molding (The Narrow Path).
This body of work traverses more than 25 years of precious writing. And for the first time ever, I am giving near full public scope to the entirety of my work — an extreme choice in vulnerability. My hope is that it will bless and inspire you in your own journey to pursue that which is oh so pure and beautiful, for God awaits with sweet anticipation to romance your heart as well…
