Of something granted,
ㅤsomething received,
For simply being.

Child

Yet we so easily resist it.
Even reject it.
Fail to grasp its true value.
Fail to understand its…

Meaning

We reduce it to the material.
The visible.
To what we can live on,
ㅤrather than what we can live within.
To what we can spend,
ㅤrather than what we can…

Embrace

We reduce it to the measurable,
ㅤnot the immeasurable.
To the momentary isolating experience,
ㅤnot the ongoing relational experiences.
And we find ourselves…

Lost

Lost in a string of forgotten experiences.
Lost in a litany of meaninglessness.
Lost in an existence of…

Isolation

We find ourselves lost and…

Alone

But,
ㅤthe…
Father

The father awaits.
Whatever we’ve done,
ㅤThe father awaits.
Whether we believe it,
ㅤThe father awaits.
No matter how low we see ourselves,
ㅤThe father awaits.
Though we know we don’t deserve it,
ㅤThe father awaits.

No matter what,
ㅤwe can turn.
We still have an inheritance.
