Nobody’s Perfect

Sep 6, 2018 · 1 min read

I strive to be my best.
I reach for the stars.
I pursue pefection,
ㅤ plotting a course for heaven.

But…

I find myself lacking.
Unable to do the right thing.
Hurting others.
Hurting myself.
I cannot be…

Perfect

On my path to perfection,
ㅤ I make rules.
Rules to show me the way.
To make me better.
If only I follow the rules,
ㅤ I will be…

Perfect

Still, I find it unattainable.
The rules,
ㅤ impossible to adhere to.
The path,
ㅤ too rocky to walk.
My steps,
ㅤ too shaky to transport me to…

Perfection

I remain broken.

Lord, I give up.
I give up my pursuit of perfection,
ㅤ for I cannot achieve it.
Instead Lord, I pursue you.
I follow you.
I give in…to you.
For only with you,
ㅤ in you,
Am I perfect.
Lord, today I am perfected in you.
