I Am Needy

Lord, you are my provider.
I can trust you with all my needs.
If I rely on myself, I must worry.
Will I succeed?
Will I have enough?
Will I be ready for tomorrow?

But when I rely on you alone to provide,
ㅤ I can live today freely.
Without fear of the future.
Without worry for tomorrow.

I can simply live today serving you.
Following you.
Focusing on you.

Lord, may I live today with you,
ㅤ so I can arrive at tomorrow with you.

In September 2017 I began writing a poem each day based on the CH Spurgeon morning devotional. 365 poems later, what’s next? Today I’ll see what my Lord has to say to me through Spurgeon’s evening devotional— what might I discover by the end of 730 days?
