In a culture that champions perpetual connectivity, the simple yet profound act of being alone — by choice, and without digital distractions — can paradoxically feel both counterintuitive and intimidating (Turkle, 2015). Nonetheless, psychological research underscores the importance of intentional solitude, highlighting how moments of quiet introspection provide a respite from external demands, facilitate heightened self-awareness, and fortify emotional resilience (Coplan, Bowker & Nelson, 2021).
