Stop Using Debunked Personality Tests; Use This One Instead

Personality can be a powerful predictor of a person’s reaction to the world around them. Sure, human decisions are also subject to the situation and the stress and emotional responses of the person making them. Yet, an accurate personality measurement offers invaluable guidance on how an individual generally responds and how best to communicate with them.

The challenge is: Most of the personality tests people use have been debunked or have little in the way of scientific evidence supporting them. This includes tests regularly used in hiring practices, college admissions, matching tools, company management, and even government agencies. By using such disproven or unsupported models, these organizations are providing erroneous feedback and problematic advice to millions of people across the US.

Thankfully, there is a model available that works across ages, genders, cultures and over time, and is the standard for peer reviewed research across the social and, increasingly, the medical sciences. Ideally, the business world will start using it as a professional standard as well, so they can truly harness the power of personality understanding.
