Celebrating Women’s History Month
We’re so proud of our Radiotopia shows hosted, produced, and engineered by women (not to mention our powerhouse female team behind the network over at PRX). To celebrate Women’s History Month, we put together a playlist of favorites: top women-focused episodes from the ladies who made them. Check out these picks from The Kitchen Sisters Present, Strangers, Criminal, Millennial, The Allusionist, and The Heart. Take a listen to each episode below, or the entire playlist.
Criminal- Brownie Lady
From one women-run business to another.

The Kitchen Sisters Present- WHER: 1000 Beautiful Watts — The First All Girl Radio Station in the Nation
These are our people! Some of the earliest women broadcasters — pioneers in the industry, who became lifelong friends and mentors. As women producers this is our family tree.

Allusionist- Between the Sheets, Part 1
Romance novels are predominantly written and read by women, and thus don’t receive the critical kudos of male-authored books. I love hearing the guests — publishers, booksellers and, above all, fans of romance — talk about why the genre deserves respect.

The Heart- Mariya
Mariya Karimjee is a badass journalist who tells her own story and creates ripples of awareness in her community and beyond. (Note: this piece won gold prize at Third Coast this year.)

Strangers- The Waxing Virgin
Where Becca’s intimate involvements as a waxer and her own experiences meet.

Millennial- Men, Moms & Money
This episode is about understanding my self-worth as a woman and where my insecurities with money actually come from.
