Editor’s Note: Our Partner Spotlight Series profiles streaming services from our partner network, giving insight to our content providers — filmmakers, producers and large catalog owners from around the world.

We are thrilled to announce our most recent distribution partnership with Qello Concerts, recently named “The Netflix Of Concert Films And Documentaries” by Forbes magazine.

Profile

Qello Concerts is the world’s leading OTT streaming service for full-length concerts and music documentaries on-demand. The company was founded in 2010 and is located in New York. Starting with a 7-day free trial, music enthusiasts can access unlimited streaming from Qello by a monthly subscription fee of $7.99. Customers can browse on Qello in various ways, looking for music based on genre, decade, the artist name or on a specific title if they know exactly what they want.

Additionally, users are able to define a custom setlist with their favorite tracks, giving music lovers the opportunity to stream to their particular musical taste and create an individual concert experience. There are thousands of choices, and new content is constantly being added to the streaming library from all musical genres — and now even more with the Filmhub partnership.

Here are some video clips of how Qello Concerts looks like.

The streaming service is available in more than 160 countries and can be accessed by most mobile devices (iOS, Android, Windows, Amazon Kindle Fire, etc.), the big screen (Apple TV, Roku, Google TV, Chromecast), and the web at qelloconcerts.com.

Curation

All titles of Filmhub’s existing users are automatically eligible and available to Qello Concerts and other recently added streaming services on the Filmhub marketplace. (Filmmakers can always opt-out via Filmhub’s rights management tool.)

Qello Concerts curates its video catalog. This means that — while there’s no automatic delivery of every title — Qello’s programmers regularly select concerts and music documentaries from Filmhub’s marketplace. Our platform promotes relevant content from our creators to them, and our smart tech tools and predictive analytics help them select and order appropriate titles.

Partnership benefits

Verticals have always been part of Filmhub’s vision. The paradigm shift to video streaming removes the monopoly of profitability from mainstream popularity. Even narrow verticals can now find their audience. As discovery shifts from high budget advertising to social, influencers and online communities, consumers are eager to find content specific to their taste and interests.

“Extending our streaming network with Qello Concerts adds valuable new discovery opportunities to our content owners. Qello connects film and music and is a special opportunity for our film, documentary and show creators. Filmhub’s marketplace enables discovery of verticals on both the creator and streaming channel side — something not possible before as the traditional industry mostly rejected verticals in favor of mainstream popularity. Filmhub together with Qello now makes this happen. It’s a perfect match in this wonderful new digital world,” says Klaus Badelt, CEO of Filmhub. Being a film and music creator himself (he’s an acclaimed Hollywood composer [Pirates of the Caribbean]), he adds “The addition of Qello Concerts to our partner network is very special for me. Obviously my heart beats for music and film, and this is a perfect combination.”

We here at Filmhub are excited to kick off our partnership with Qello Concerts and take another step toward a future where all content creators have access to the worldwide distribution market by use of technology.
