Learning is an adventure. We crave stories and knowledge for the places they can take us and their ability to transform our lives.

As part of the National Library Board (NLB)’s Libraries and Archives Blueprint 2025 (LAB25), NLB has been turning everyday places into worlds of discovery through nodes set up at locations all over Singapore.

Since October 2021, NLB has rolled out more than 18 nodes at shopping malls and BreadTalk Group food retail outlets, transforming these places into playgrounds for learning and immersive fun. If you missed our past nodes, make sure to catch our latest ones below!

Learn About Sustainability — It’s Now a Literal Walk in the Park

From 14 October 2022 to 26 February 2023, Nodes at Parks brings eResources about sustainability to you while you’re out in nature.

Sustainability Showcase

Look out for our Sustainability Showcase at some of our local parks (locations below), where you’ll find a range of sustainable products and ideas to chew on, from snacks made from “ugly” and surplus vegetables, to coasters made from disposable chopsticks.

Think you know your stuff after checking out the showcase? Test your knowledge on sustainability with a quiz! You’ll be able to redeem eCoupons, which you can use to get discounts on some of the showcased products.

Don’t forget to check out the following areas too:

  1. Book Exchange Corner: Take pre-loved books home, or donate your own books to extend their lifespans.
  2. Environmental Memory Drive: Come reflect and think about your experiences in nature, and share them with us.
  3. Show and Tell: Learn more about the sustainable journeys behind some of the products by our green partners.

Our Sustainability Showcase can be found at the following locations:

  1. Gardens by the Bay (beside the Ticketing Office near the Flower Dome)
    14 October to 22 November 2022
  2. Jurong Lake Gardens (at the Entrance Pavilion)
    25 November to 18 December 2022
  3. East Coast Park (at Raintree Cove)
    21 December 2022 to 24 January 2023
  4. Pasir Ris Park (at the shelter near Carpark D)
    27 January to 26 February 2023

Seek and Unscramble Contest

Hunt down all our benches within the parks (made from repurposed wood and painted by some very talented and creative secondary school students) and stand a chance to win shopping vouchers worth S$100! Simply scan the QR codes on the benches to collect clues to guess the mystery word. Five winners will be selected for each park, so there’re plenty of chances to win! To find out more, click here.

This initiative is supported by the SG Eco Fund and NParks. Gardens by the Bay is our venue partner. Visit our Nodes at Parks website here.

We publish our articles on our social media channels. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram to get the latest updates on our stories!
