Here’s a new party game!

Lucy Crisetig 2019

This is not only the end of the year, but it’s also the end of a decade.

A decade where so many dark things have come to the surface. We’ve had to face things about ourselves and our world that we never thought we’d have to.

Everyone I talk to feels that time seems to be speeding up.

So while motivating you to make a resolution for 2020 and looking back on all the things you were grateful for could be what you’re looking for, I really felt the lead up to this New Year’s Eve requires more meaning.

The usual type of message for this time of year just doesn’t seem to fit.

This is a time when we’re required to go deeper than we’re used to and not only to care more but to take action as well.

This is a time to step up and put action to our desires. A time to stop complaining and start looking at who we are, what choices we’ve made, and where we’re heading.

As a new year and a new decade is upon us, our souls are screaming for deeper connection, more understanding, freedom to let go, thoughtful expression and true clarity about our lives and this world.

Rather than making a typical resolution this year, may I suggest you consider taking a different approach?

Get a piece of paper and pen to write down your answers.

  1. What has been shifting or releasing from your life over the past year to make room for your fullest expression? Life has given all of us the opportunity at some point over the year to let go of beliefs, ways of thinking, grudges, pain, low energy emotions, etc. What has been made brutally clear about yourself or others? What have you had difficulty letting go of? None of this is easy. And how have you grown from it?
  2. Imagine it’s now a year from today, the end of 2020, and your year has been your most enjoyable yet. Your wildest and deepest dreams have unfolded… What happened? What did you do? What has come into your life? Whenever Life asks you to let go of something, it will always be filled up with something else. There is never a void left unfilled. What decisions did you make to lead up to your dreams coming to fruition?
  3. What if Life has far bigger ideas for you than your dreams can take you? How could Life surprise you with delight and wonder? List the way Life could take you further.

Make this a party game with your family or friends, although get it started at the beginning of the gathering. Feel into these questions. Dig deep and dream big in your answers. Be as free as you can and hold firm in the belief that you’re worthy of receiving all the dreams you can dream.

This New Year’s Eve try this different approach.

We’ve all heard Einstein’s quote,

“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.”

We’re being invited to change the way we think and it all starts with us.

The world changes, when we do.

May this New Year be one filled with all the blessings your heart can hold.
