“Science fiction is about extrapolation,” said bestselling author Robert J. Sawyer. “It’s about looking back through history, spotting a trend, and predicting where it will go.”

I’ve read hundreds of science fiction books. There’s nothing more enjoyable than sitting on the couch and getting lost in my imagination for several hours. So, in this article, I’ll share five sci-fi books I wish I read sooner. Hopefully, you’ll enjoy every second of reading them.

Let’s dive right in!

The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy by Douglas Adams

The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy is an extraordinary book!

“Seconds before the Earth is demolished to make way for a galactic freeway, Arthur Dent is plucked off the planet by his friend,” per Goodreads. “Together, the duo hitchhike around the galaxy and get into all sorts of trouble.”

The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy was one of my favorite books as a child. I vividly remember reading it at 3am under the covers with a flashlight. However, my mom woke up after I laughed loudly, and she yelled at me for reading on a school night. Oops.
