Create Your Own Path to Happiness by Choosing the Life You Want

Live the life you want, not the one You should

A couple of decades ago, when I told people that my husband and I were separating, there were various reactions. Most people were surprised as they thought we were the perfect family, and we were from the outside. But this wasn’t the life I wanted.

When I started working as a full-time coach, the HR section of the University I worked for kept asking me if I knew what I was doing and that I should have a secure income. But that wasn’t the life I wanted.

When I sold my home to rent a flat on the beach, many people were horrified. Yes, my house was lovely, but that wasn’t the life I wanted.

And now, my partner and I intend to spend however long we want travelling around, and I’m getting confused reactions from others. Most people admit wishing they could do the same thing, but they don’t want to give up the perceived safety of their life. That’s not the life I want.

What life do you want?

Living the Life You Should

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”
