“Different is better than better”- Sally Hogshead

December, the time when we are universally called to look back at the good, the bad and the ugly.

The time when it’s easier than ever to lose hope because we seem to only remember the ugly.

The friend we lost. The relationships we couldn’t save. The money we spent. The New Year Resolutions we didn’t stick with.

Before we get the chance to go through the motions and come to terms with how much we were able to survive, we’re reminded that Christmas is around and today’s tasks must be accomplished.

So, the ugly stays on the back burner, looking forward to the 31st when we can gleefully wash it all away.

Only to return to this mood in December 2019 — if God lets us.

I don’t want that for me. That’s why I jumped on the #nonewyearresolution bandwagon. If you’re not on it, you know someone who is.
