Visually learning through the Psalms
I have read the Psalms before. I had studied them too. But this time using an amazing resource along with the Bible I have come to really visualize and feel what David (that’s King David) speaks through God’s Word.
David Kitz’s book “psalms alive” (yes there are no capitals), brought me face to face with God. His excellent stories, visual imagery and theological truths have grown my faith.
The study happened and is still happening in a Closed Facebook Group called Growing Through God’s Word. This group is interactive, and personal.
Creativity is vulnerable — Growing Through God’s Word is that safe place. We want more: art, depth, creativity & a connection to God. We focus on His Word and listening prayer to know Him.
In our newest study, David Kitz takes us through 13 Psalms — thoroughly. As we read we let God speak to us. Then through art, music, and words we express what He has told us. The combination of David’s book and the Bible has produced a powerful filling of the Holy Spirit in the participants.
We can read God’s Holy Word daily, but unless Jesus walks off those pages and into our lives, the exercise is meaningless (David Kitz, “psalms alive”, page 127).
