In the distance, a rare fog was rolling over Santa Monica. A nearly new and yet years old notebook rested on my bulky metal desk. Sitting uncomfortably in my matching metal folding chair, I felt desperate enough to finally put pen to paper and start a list of what I had in life.

In a figurative “going through my pockets” sort of moment, I took stock of my life to see where I was in hopes of figuring out where to go.

What did I have?

  1. A degree
I was about to get my degree from a good university. Granted, it was a degree in something I didn’t want to pursue in life, but still.
  2. Spare time
Living expenses were next to nothing, and therefore I had plenty of spare time (time I was dumping into Netflix, Youtube, and restless sleep).
  3. WiFi
I had access to the whole world thru my laptop and a WiFi connection for the price of one tall iced coffee at my local Starbucks (thank you, Starbucks, for fueling my madness).
