A Three-Step Plan
I’ve been described as “industrious” because I’m always thinking of different ways to maximize my time — whether it’s through side hustles, passion projects, or anything in between.
So naturally, as I was mowing my backyard tonight, I thought to myself,
Man, I bet I could make some nice money on the side if I went around the neighborhood and offered to cut everyone’s grass at a competitive rate. I’d easily pull in an extra two or three hundred bucks per week! I’d get plenty of steps in, so it’s like paid cardio! I’d build a huge client base! I’d …
… Be absolutely miserable.
I don’t even like cutting my yard, so why would I sign up to do it for the whole neighborhood?
On top of that, I’ve already got like, five different things I’m interested in pursuing. Why would I stretch myself even more thin for a sixth thing that I don’t even enjoy?
It was a nice reminder that when it comes to side hustles — and pretty much anything else — just because you can do something, it doesn’t always mean you should.
