How Will Spring Shape Your Summer?
It’s not too early to think about Summer
Spring is here, and as excited as I am about that, I’m also thinking about Summer. As the days start warming up and summer gets closer, now’s the time to ask: How does this break shape what comes next?
Will you use summer to rest or to build something new? Will it be about adventure or focus? Maybe a mix of both?
Personally, I want to play and focus on some work-related goals so that the time doesn’t slip away.
Here are a few ways to rethink your summer priorities:
What Needs to Stay? What Needs to Go? — Think about what’s been making you feel energized vs. drained. How can you build a summer that leans more into what fuels you?
There are some things I need to let go of, the things that make me feel trapped and there are some things I need to pick up, too. Like Summer's professional development as a teacher before the Fall.
You didn't think teachers actually got the summer off, did you? If so, you’re sorely mistaken.
Set a ‘Summer Mission’ — Instead of just making a to-do list, set a theme. Maybe it’s exploration, discipline, or deep work. Let that theme guide your choices.
