In recent months, you may have heard of something that sounds pretty ridiculous: The Carnivore Diet. Yep, folks are switching to meat-only nutrition, and there has been significant backlash.

Vegans are not happy about it, but that’s really no surprise considering it is the polar opposite of their own eating habits. What I have been surprised by is just how many non-vegans are bashing the carnivore diet and how quick so many people have been to shoot it down.

Look, I get it, it sounds crazy, but to be completely honest, veganism sounds crazy too if you do it wrong. Humans cannot create vitamin K2 in our own digestive systems, and the primary source of the vitamin is animals who can make it. This vitamin is essential for Vitamin D synthesis in the body.

There are ways to mitigate this effect, the most obvious being supplementation: but that’s just the point man, Done Wrong, many diets will be bad for you.

That’s not really the issue to me, however. The issue is that as far as I can tell, people are bashing carnivore as a knee-jerk reaction rather than a scientific reaction.
