This January, what better time to double down on the home trend of Japandi — minimalism that combines two fascinating cultures?

What is Japandi?

I am a fan of the minimalist lifestyle, but learned about the Japandi trend only recently.

Japandi is most often considered a “fusion of Japanese and Scandinavian design principles.” Its hallmarks include “minimalism, functionality, and a deep respect for nature.”

Japandi is a combination of two distinct lifestyles. The Scandinavian influences on the style include “simplicity of forms and great functionality,” as well as a focus on sustainability and natural materials.
