“Know Thyself”

Socrates Image By Raimund Feher from Pixabay

“Know thyself”, Socrates said
Words received from Delphic Oracle
Only then will truth be known,
Ancient Greek wisdom needed today
Knowing ourselves, our greatest power.

Romans like Seneca knew this too
He and Socrates were put to death
For truths and sagacity espoused,
Never doubting their own wisdom
Or the power it gave to them.
