Mindfulness Boosts Up Your Creativity

And open a new way of thinking.

One of the reasons we fail to be more creative is that a school teach us to be right. The school system makes us good workers but not creative thinkers. As Ken Robinson said on TED Talk:

”We get out of school in a fear of being wrong.”

Well, he was right.

The other thing killing our creativity is the fast-paced environment. These environments make us distracted and jump from one idea to another. The brain lacks a certain level of focus and by adding stress into it, it is almost impossible to create a new idea.

The Creativity Is Boosted Up By Two Things:

#Mindfulness

”The mind is like a muscle. The more you exercise it, the stronger it gets and the more it can expand.”- Idowu Koyenikan

Neuroplasticity, also known as brain plasticity, proved that the brain has an ability to change anytime throughout our lives. This means we are able to decrease the stress in our head while focusing on increasing our creative mind.

Mindfulness is one of the best ways how to train our most creative part of the brain.

Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us.

It is accessible through meditation and training of the brain to improve our ability to stay focused without getting distracted.

#Positive Mindset

Creativity also requires a certain state of mind. Based on the science, you need to have a positive mind to be able to think creatively. It leads you to open thinking and flexibility. This is supported by Barbara Fredrickson theory on positive emotions.

“You need to train your mind to see the good in every situation. The process of discovery involved in creating something new appears to be one of the most enjoyable activities any human can be involved in.”
