You’re Wrong (Probably)

“More” isn’t always the answer.

Whose standards are you measuring your current effort/output against?

Hopefully…your own.

Here’s what no one will tell you:

Chase perfection.

It’ll keep you growing, and growth = happiness.

No problem with that.

There is a problem, however, with having standards so high it prevents you from doing and shipping the work.

This is when “perfect” becomes procrastination.

But what if our need to do “more” comes not from our standards, but our comparison to others?

Know this:

Comparison is the root of all evil.

Stop measuring your Day 1 to someone else’s Day 1,000.

I did this all the time in music conservatory:

You see a talented musician killing it and winning auditions.

You admire their prowess over their instrument and think, “I can never do that.”

Then, you justify it:

“Well, they are a senior. I’m just a freshman, after all.”
