Reading Fiction will Help You Escape Your Current Reality

A couple of book recommendations to explore new worlds

“I rarely read fictional books anymore, but your writing took me back to my elementary school days staying up reading the likes of Harry Potter until 2 AM with nothing but a tiny reading light.”

Books are the closest thing we have to time travel. Reading provides an unparalleled opportunity to insert yourself in a different place and time. It allows you the freedom to remove yourself from wherever you currently are. To remove yourself from wherever the world currently is.

Story-driven, fiction books put our minds at ease. They allow us to wander, to think about reality in a new light, and to escape from society in whatever way we see fit.

We can take a magical train into a mystical new world. We can take children on a bus to inspire them to learn and explore their curiosities. We can take ourselves back to the days in which we read under a tiny reading light until 2 AM without a worry in the world.

Normally, I read personal development. I am a bit of a self-help junkie, absorbing all of the literature about grit, resilience, overcoming adversity, and living a meaningful life that I can get my hands on. While these are all fabulous concepts, these books…
