I vividly remember getting off the plane in Los Angeles and thinking, “this was a mistake.”

My friends described LA as the best city in the United States. They boasted about gorgeous weather, phenomenal beaches, and the friendliest people in the world. However, when I unknowingly arrived during the height of wildfire season, all I could see was smoke (and someone pooping on the sidewalk).

Public transit in Los Angeles was terrible. So, when I opted to take an Uber instead, I was horrified at the sky-high prices in comparison to the rest of the country. I knew that crime was an issue (and my friends told me to be careful). But due to the high cost of living in Los Angeles, every transaction felt like daylight robbery.

Needless to say, I won’t be going back to Los Angeles anytime soon. And in this article, I’ll share a list of several other cities around the world that are overrated.

Let’s dive right in!
