Lily Kane walked into her great-grandmother’s parlor with the rest of the family, to say their last goodbyes. She knew she was named after the old woman, but had never met her. The dusty room reeked of old memories and cobwebs. She thought it had probably been a hundred years since the old, red drapes had been opened. The only lights in the house were oil lamps and candles, casting eerie shadows across the walls. It was as though she’d stepped back in time.
