The past 100 days flew by as I was running for political office. If you can tell, I lost the election and am now back to my daily routine.
You see, I have thought about running for years.
First, my friends told me to run for office in El Paso.
At first, I never considered it. Running for office never crossed my mind.
So, I kept watching the current people in office. Then I got frustrated watching elected leaders do stupid things.
Some committed crimes that landed them a slap on the wrist.
For instance, one city council member used a government-issued gas card illegally. The person used the gas card more than anyone, including the mayor. Later, it was reported the husband also used the gas card.
Hearing things like this drives me crazy about how irresponsible people are, especially since residents voted them into office.
Second, I waited until my son graduated high school. I wanted to make sure he finished the first part of his life and was able to move on to college or find a trade.
