When you’re a writer, you tend to be passionate about what you do, and that passion can ignite a rollercoaster of emotions. From wanting to quit writing one day to ferociously writing the next — you never know what each day will bring.

You may have some wins or losses, but in the end, our art will exist long after we are gone, and that's something I try to remember on those days that I just want to give up.

If you don’t experience these intense mood swings, you’re lucky. But for those of us that do: You’re not alone.

“I Don’t Feel Like Writing Today, but I Will” (Listless, Apprehensive, and Apathetic)

These are the days that you would rather sit and watch mind-numbing television, spend time with your loved ones, or listen to music with actual words, all of which are hard to do when you’re writing.

This is the time that you force yourself to write, and sometimes it ends with you stopping after a few words or sentences, or powering through it with results that you are not happy with.

But forcing yourself to write isn’t always bad.
