The opposite can work better
One of my favorite episodes in TV history is rather infamous.
It’s “The Opposite” from Seinfeld.
The plot is that George Costanza, the comical character based on Larry David, realizes everything he did in his life was wrong. (There were other subplots as well—Jujyfruits, for example, was fantastic.)
“If every instinct you have is wrong,” says Jerry, “then the opposite would have to be right.”
So George starts doing the opposite of what he would normally do—and his life blossoms.
The funny thing is that there are tons of things in your life where you can (and should) do the opposite of what everyone else does to thrive.
