This Strategy Ensures I Pick Up Better Self-Help Books

I’ll be the first to admit I’m not that big of a reader. I prefer short books or even articles where the information is distilled to fine details and delivered directly.

Aside from that, I often find myself not really absorbing the words that authors have to say in those lengthy books, which requires me to either jot down notes or reread passages. All of it results in books taking a much longer time for me to process.

But even though that is the case, I still pick out some books — self-help books in particular.

With a wide array of books to pick from and thousands more getting published every year, sifting through the wealth of options and information is a hassle. However, I’ve always had a tried-and-true strategy to ensure I pick out some solid self-help books.

As someone who cares about my own growth and development, I’ve honed this strategy for years to filter out the useless self-help books and pick out much better ones. Here is that strategy.
