Timeless Love Letters — and How to Write Them

For a Generation Where “U Up” Just isn’t Doing it for Us

Asked recently why people are still enamored with famous love letters, I said without even thinking that “u up” just isn’t providing the romance this generation requires.

It’s true though. Where past generations exchanged love letters, we exchange texts, gifs, and emojis and wonder why romance is considered a lost art. It isn’t lost; it’s just out of practice. Pen and paper still exist, and our words today are no less lovely than they ever were. We just don’t use them in the same way.

Instead, we pull out other people’s love letters that were never meant for other eyes and let our romantic hearts beat in time with theirs.
